Attendances in the WSL(Women’s Super League) continue to grow in England, home of the European champions.
Leading the way are Arsenal with an average attendance of 28,119 for 2024/25.
Followed by Manchester City with 8,677 for the same period.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are 3rd and 4th with 7,203 and 7,014 respectively.
The reason for the attendance gap between Arsenal and the other teams is Arsenal playing at Emirates stadium, home of the men’s team. Arsenal Emirates stadium has a capacity of 60,704.
Sadly the picture is not the same all over the world with European Champions England playing in front of crowds as small as 2,700 in a World Cup qualifier in Austria.
Though the attendance figures are good they are actually down on the same time last year. In 2023/24 Arsenal had an average attendance of 29,999.
Followed by Manchester United with 10,957 for the same period.
Then Chelsea and Manchester City with 9,266 and 7,108 respectively.
