The series Adim Farah has failed to live up to expectations in Turkey. Known in America as “The Cleaning Lady” starring Elodie Yung in the lead role. The Turkish remake has not enjoyed the same success in Turkey. Fox TV in the US noted the first episode attracted audiences exceeding 5 million, making it one of the most watched debuts for years. The Turkish remake barely mustered a 10 per cent share of the nights top 10 ratings in Turkey. With only a 3.94 per cent rating overall, which rose to 4.51 for the AB group and 4.37 for 20+ ABC1.
Hi, No big surprise here
The casting of Elodie Yung in the US show was a master-stroke. Demet Özdemir who plays the lead in the Turkish show is a great actress as we saw in the brilliant “The house where you were born” and “Love Tactics”. She is also one of the best actresses in Turkey, this role though just was not quite right for her and you never felt the chemistry between her and the male lead.
